Introducing StoryWave Open Standard Development

StoryWave is an open source robot that takes Google Wave into a new way of working with sub text – Annotating the points where characters change. StoryWave is a prototype real time open collaborative environment that empowers the writer and director with insights to character’s motives. In film this allows a director to plan where to put the camera and ultimately the emotional engagement of the audience.

A clear set of steps for a director creates an open standard and so has gained the interest of the UK Film Council, and the Directors Guild of Great Britain, and is why we feel it is important to get it out into the world in an open source form. It was first introduced at Google London OSS Jam 3rd December 2009

The work is still at proof of concept stage, for more information please see the Design Document
